Robert "Homer" Daris

Robert W. “Homer” Daris Sr., 64 of Temple, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020 at a local hospital.  A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple.

Robert was born March 4, 1955 to Norman and Joyce (Moore) Daris in Marlboro, MA.  He married Roberta (Bobbie) L. Daris and enjoyed 47 blessed years with her.  He worked 15 years in Maintenance for the City of Morgan’s Point and 6 years in Parks & Leisure for the City of Temple before retiring.  He was a member of the VFW and a Veteran of the United States Army.  Robert enjoyed Bar-B-Q's and camping, singing karaoke and relaxed by coloring and doing puzzles.  He also really had fun going dancing and spending time with family and friends.  He loved to get on a backroad and just drive..

The family of Mr. Robert Daris would like to express a huge thank you to everyone for their support and prayers and for all the love sent during this difficult time.

"We appreciate your hugs, and your shoulders to cry on.  Those of you who knew Robert, aka Homer, knew he was a good man with a good heart, and a great sense of humor.  He was a hard working man and an awesome dad.  He would do anything, for anyone.  He was a loving husband, and devoted his time with his family." - The Robert Daris Family

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Albert Daris; and sister, Marianne Bamford.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Bobbie; son, Robert W. Daris, Jr.; daughter, Brenda L. Taylor; brother, Michael Daris; sister, Donna M. Cope; grandchildren, Jeannette “Nette” Cortes-Barker, and Allen “West” Barker; great-grandchildren, Adrianna M. Cortes, and Jacob Cortes; and lots of nieces, nephews, and friends.  Robert will be missed by so many that loved him.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
