On Easter Sunday April 12, 2020, our Heavenly Father called Lupe Swanson to her Heavenly home. Born October 6, 1923 in Temple, TX, she was the beloved daughter of Juan and Sofie Mojica and the adored mother to nine children.
Lupe was known and loved by many for her beautiful smile, her generosity, compassionate attitude towards others and her lemon meringue pies.
In her younger years Lupe was proud to have been a motorcycle mechanic during a time few women ventured in that field. She would also make extra cash to help make ends meet by bringing like to black and white photos with her oil painting skills before color photos became common. Lupe worked for a short period of time as a seamstress for Woods Manufacturing in Temple and as a taxi cab driver for Yellow Cab. She later worked for and retired from Exxon Oil.
During her youth she attended Guadalupe Catholic Church and later attended and became a member of Canyon Creek Baptist Church after receiving Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and being Baptized on April 22nd, 1990.
Lupe will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Santos Mojica, her daughter Linda Broadbent, her sons; William J. Swanson III, Felix Mojica, and her beloved grandson Wallitos Carrillo.
Lupe is survived by her sister Katie Buckingham, oldest son Wallace Carrillo Jr., son Joseph Mojica and wife Katie of Temple, Tx, daughter Sofie Gonzales and husband Tomas, son James Swanson Jr. and wife Lynn, daughter Rose Marie Schwartz and husband Barry, and youngest daughter Delfina Musick and husband David.
