John Lancaster

John Fearl Lancaster, age 80 of Temple, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 12 pm Monday, March 7, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Wade Longcrier officiating. Burial will be at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen at 3 pm.

John was born in Temple, Texas where he was also raised. He served in the US Army, US Veterans Affairs, and served various police departments. He also provided security services for various charities and organizations. He married his last true love in June of 1993. He lived and loved with Sue Lancaster where they enjoyed traveling by RV to see sights all around the country and to see loved ones. They loved traveling with their grandchildren (James 21, Hannah 19) and then later coming to events like graduation and other events as they got older. While at home they enjoyed planting and gardening.

John is preceded in death by his parents, RJ and Clara (Joiner) Lancaster; and his loving wife, Sue Lancaster. Also, Jesse Porter Morgan; and Ruie Rowena Morgan.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his stepson, Richard Zeinert; stepdaughter-in-law, Joy Elizabeth Zeinert; grandchildren, James and Hannah Zeinert; and beloved friends, Jimmie Vernon Ray, Margie Quinton, and Samantha Blevins.

A time of visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
