Jim Breen

James “Jim” Andrew Breen, age 82 of Temple, passed from this life Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Baylor Scott & White hospital in Temple. Graveside services will be held at 3 pm Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen.

The family requests that you meet at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple - 500 W. Barton Ave. at 1 pm for the procession to the Veteran's Cemetery.

Jim was born on March 31, 1939, to Michael J. and Esther (Mead) Breen in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 to 1960. Jim had four daughters from a previous marriage, and when he married Juanita in 1975, he also gained a stepdaughter. Jim worked as an independent truck and bus driver until his retirement in 2006. Upon retirement, he treasured time spent with his wife. Jim enjoyed being at home and caring for his little dog, Haddie and riding his scooter around the neighborhood. He loved taking care of his plants and yard. Jim loved telling his stories to those who sat outside with him during those visits. He loved having family and friends over for cookouts. Jim will always be remembered, as he left those he was around a joyful memory to hold in their hearts.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Michael J. and Esther Breen; brother, Michael Breen Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Anne Breen.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife, Juanita Breen; daughters, Rebecca Breen of Wilmington, North Carolina, Jamie Breen of Boscawen, New Hampshire, Janet Leavitt of Concord, New Hampshire, and Karen Flinkstrom of Concord, New Hampshire; stepdaughter, Melisa Ramirez of Temple, Texas; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
