Billie Anderson

January 17, 1927 — March 8, 2015

Graveside services for Billie Nell Anderson, 88, of Temple will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14 at Uhland Live Oak Cemetery, 72 South Old Spanish Trail in Uhland, Texas, with Jimmy Darnell officiating.

Mrs. Anderson died at home on March 8.

Nell was born January 17, 1927 in Broaddus, Texas to William and Ida Mabel Roberts. In 1943, at the age of 16, she married John Anderson. They started their family in 1945 and were married for 70 years.
She enjoyed her family and always had an "ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on". Even though she loved her family, she would say the most important event in her life was her decision to follow Jesus Christ. She was an active member of many churches throughout her life, opening her home for Christian teaching and fellowship. The last church she attended was Bethel Assembly in Temple, Texas. She filled her last years with reading.

Nell was preceded in death by her husband, John.

She is survived by a son, John A. Anderson and wife, Patricia; daughters, Sheri E. Wright and husband, Ben, and Carol A. Joersz and husband, Al; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

The family suggests that memorials in Nell's name be made to Pleasant Hills Children's Home, P.O. Box 1177, Fairfield Texas 75840.
