Woodrow Elmer Marek, 79, of Temple passed away on February 19, 2013 at a local hospital. Services have been set for Saturday, February 23, 2013 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Temple at 10am. Burial will follow at Seaton Cemetery.
Woodrow was born on March 12, 1933 to Joe and Tracy Simek Marek in Bell County. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He attended Seaton Brethren Church. He married Gladys Naivar in Temple on December 26, 1956. He worked for Chupik Corp as a purchasing agent for 25 years. He retired from Foxworth Galbraith where he held a sales position. He was a former Chairman of the Board for SPJST Lodge 47 Seaton. The former Vice President of RVOS 5, the current director of Seaton Cemetery, and current member of Temple VFW.
He is preceded in death by his parents and wife in January 2012, 4 brothers Leroy Marek, Frank Skrabanek, Jerry Skrabanek, W.C Marek, Sr. 3 sisters Elsie Orsag, Carmen Skrabanek, Sydonia Skrabanek.
He is survived by his 2 sons Leonard Marek of Temple, and Royce Marek of Houston, 2 sisters Evelyn Henning of Temple, and Josephine Conway of College Station, 2 brothers Eugene Skrabanek of Caldwell, and Milton Skrabanek of Caldwell, 3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of dear friends.
Visitation has been set for Friday, February 22, 2013 from 68 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorials be made to the Star Hall Lodge 47 in Seaton10842 State Highway 53, Temple, Texas.
