Services for Wilma Bessie Frerichs, 84, of Temple will be 10:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Denise Mikeska officiating. Burial will follow at Seaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Freichs died Saturday, May 28, at a local hospital.
She was born August 19, 1931 in Rogers to John Stastny and Frances Martinek. She attended Casey High School and married Bobby Frerichs in 1949. They farmed cotton, corn and milo. Wilma started her family in 1956 with their first child. She was a proud mother to her two children. Mrs. Frerichs enjoyed canning, cooking holiday dressing and baking her famous Pecan Pie. She loved to read cookbooks like they were traditional novels. They moved to Temple in the late 60's. She was a hard worker, working for the Temple News Agency till the mid 70's and then continued to work for Albertsons groceries till her retirement in 1994. She is a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge 47 and of the Seaton Brethren Church.
Survivors include her son, Fred Michael Frerichs, a daughter, Dianne Cehand (Charles), one brother Clarence Stastny (Malena) three sisters, Evelyn Reznicek, Georgia Bartek, and Dorothy Lightfoot, and two grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred Frerichs, and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 8:00 - 10 a.m. prior to the service on Thursday.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
