Willis Turner

Willis P. Turner, 74, of Temple, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 in a Richardson, Texas hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Northside Church of Christ in Temple with Minister Jason Turner and Elder Charlie Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Mr. Turner was born to Ralph Edward and Hester Pruitt Turner in Hood County, Texas on October 7, 1934. He had been a resident of Temple for 15 years. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian. He married Willie East in Stephenville, Texas on December 23, 1956. He was a member of Northside Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Willie Turner of Temple; two sons, Jason W. Turner of Temple and Justin P. Turner of Plano; one daughter, Juanita Stovall of Abilene; one brother, Ralph Turner, Jr. of Hico; one sister, Charlotte Lively of Clifton; and seven grand-children. He was preceded in death by a son, Jasper Owen Turner on May 31, 1975.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
