Howard Fowler, 92, of Temple, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Friendship Cemetery in Friendship, Texas with Rev. David E. Persons officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 P.M. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Mr. Fowler was born to William Dave and Maude Hagler Fowler on August 19, 1916 in Sharp, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Bell and Milam counties, and attended school in Friendship. He was a 30 year employee with Ralph Wilson PlasticsWilson Art. He was one of the original 14 hired in 1956 by Dr. Ralph Wilson, Sr.. Prior to being employed with RWP, Mr. Fowler served in the Army out of Fort Sam Houston with the 15th Field Artillery as a machine gunner. After a brief military career, Howard farmed and ranched, before working construction on the Belton Dam.
Survivors include his brother, John Alexander Fowler and wife, Henrietta of Boerne; two grandsons, Bobby Fowler of Del Valle and Heath Fowler of Temple; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and one step great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Ellen Frances Bales Fowler; and both sons, Kerry Dale Fowler and William Stanley Fowler.
A luncheon will be provided following the service at the Friendship Methodist Church Annex for visitation and fellowship.
