Walter M. Brown Jr. SFC Retired
Born September 4, 1919 in Denton, Texas. He began his military service in April of 1940. In 1942 he was awarded the Bronze Star and Combat Medic Badge at Guadal Canal.
He was returned to the U.S. for Malaria treatment, where he met his future wife Lucille. They were married on June 10, 1944. He also served in Japan, Germany, and Korea before retiring from military service in 1960. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and sister and by his loving wife of 65 years.
He is survived by his son Paul K.K., Grandson Alan and wife Wizzie, and great grandson Griffin.
Visitation services will be held at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple, Texas from 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10am.
