Vivian Wilson

Vivian Inez Wilson, 101, of Killeen (formerly of Temple and Holland), died Tuesday, May 10, 2018 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, May 16 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Dr. Tom Henderson and Pastor Billy Koinm officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 15 at Harper Talasek.

Burial will be in Holland City Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson was born on February 11, 1917 near Rogers, TX to James Lewis and Martha Melvina Stracener. She was the youngest of 11 children and attended schools in the Rogers area.
Mrs. Wilson married Joe Lee Wilson on November 21, 1931 in Holland, TX and they began a marriage of 59 years which ended in 1990 with his death. She loved her Lord and Savior and was blessed with a keen sense of humor which she maintained to the end of her earthly life.

Mrs. Wilson was a devoted and loving mother to her two surviving children, JoNez Van Hovel of Temple, and Jimmy Wilson (Joyce) of Austin. She is also survived by her two grandchildren, Debra Hoff (Terry) and Troy Van Hovel (Annette), two great grandsons, Mitchell Hoff (Becca) and Kyle Hoff (Kristin), two great-great granddaughters, Reese and Riley Hoff, all of Minnesota. Also extended family members, Todd Pate (Lorie) and Matt Pate (Melissa) and their children. Mrs. Wilson has many surviving nieces and nephews. Special appreciation to her niece, June Knight of Temple, for all her tender loving care throughout the years.

Her family would like to recognize the wonderful care that she has received for several decades by doctors and staff of Scott & White, especially Dr. Stephen Walker. Also a heartfelt thanks to the staff of 4 South for their care and compassion during the last two days of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Heights Baptist Church, 1220 South 49th Street, Temple, TX 76504 or to a charity of the donor's choice.
