Services for Virginia Evaughn Malmin will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday, December 3, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Ridge Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Malmin died Monday, November 28, 2016 at a local hospital.
Virginia Evaughn Malmin was born October 7, 1922 in Lampasas, Texas to William Dixon Goodwin and Etta Jane Gillum Goodwin. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and Dual Cosmetology School in Austin. Evaughn married Lincoln Malmin November 2, 1946 at First Lutheran Church in Temple and he preceded her in death on January 24, 2003 after 56 years of marriage. Mrs. Malmin was a member of Memorial Baptist Church where she was a nursery attendant for many years and a member of the Mary Ruth Class.
She is preceeded in death by her parents; six sisters, Wilma Jane McDonald, Anna Lois Jones, Dorothy Eunice Treybig, Alma Lillian Gunter, Lucille Saxon, and Pauline Wilson; four brothers, Milvern B. Goodwin, Homer Sparks Goodwin, Victor Morris Goodwin, and Edwin Buell Goodwin.
Mrs. Malmin is survived by her daughters, Sonja Malmin Chupik and husband Ken, and Lisa Malmin and wife Deb Bryan; a son, Paul Malmin and wife Lola; six grandchildren, Traci Chupik, Shelli Chupik, Nathan Rolan, Hannah Rolan, Eric Malmin; and Jon Malmin; three great-grandhildren, Ella Chupik, Kooper Malmin, and Kennedy Malmin.
Visitation will be 6 -8 p.m. Friday, December 2, at the funeral home.
Memorials in Mrs. Malmin's honor may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, 6161 S. 5th Street, Temple, Texas 76502.
