Services for Virginia D. (Dee) Fowler, 82, of Temple will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Reed officiating.
Ms. Virginia D. Fowler died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at a local hospital.
Virginia was born on Aug 15, 1935 to Ellis and Ruth Joseph in Lima, Ohio. She graduated from Lima South High School in 1953, and played saxophone in the band. She worked
many years at the Lima Newspaper as a Typesetter. She moved to Tampa, Florida and was a general manager at Tampa Typesetting. She was well known for her speed and
skill in typing. She moved to Houston, TX in 1978 where she met and married Melvin (Peanut) Fowler. They moved to Temple, TX and opened a tavern called "Peanut's". Virginia
loved people and enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Ruth Joseph of Lima, Ohio; three sisters, Betty and husband George of Lima Ohio, Elinor (Peg) Kerzee of Wapakoneta, Ohio,
Phylis and husband William Harmon of Tampa, Florida; two brothers, Glen Joseph of Elyria, Ohio, Gene and wife Beverly Joseph of Lima, Ohio.
She is survived by six children, Cynthia (Sam) Grouss of Moody, TX, Patricia Coulter and husband Dean of Lima, Ohio, Timothy (Toby) Teeters of Temple, TX, Ronald Teeters of
Willis, TX, Kevin Teeters and wife Karen of Celina, Ohio, and Timothy and wife Katie Fowler of Heidenheimer, TX; along with sixteen grandchildren and twenty three
great grandchildren.
