Services for Virginia Lorene Myers Carver, 94, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 18th at the Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple with Pastor Tom Robbins officiating. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Carver died Wednesday, May 13, in Temple.
She was born in Temple on October 21, 1920 to Eliza and Jackson Hayes Myers. Prior to her marriage, Lorene worked for Greshams and the Blackland Experiment Station in Temple. She married Robert Earl Carver at the Memorial Baptist Church in Temple in February, 1942. After World War II, the couple moved to Houston and owned the Bob Carver Independent Cash Register Company for 40 years where Lorene served as the secretary and manager. Upon retirement, they moved back to Temple.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Earl Carver on January 11, 1989; her sister, Hazel Myers Wheat on April 20, 1963; and her brother, Robert Gordon Myers on November 17, 1989.
Lorene is survived by a sister-in-law; Mildred Cole Myers, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9 - 10 a.m. Monday, May 18th at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorene's memory to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 773, Temple, Texas 76503.
