Vernon White

A memorial service for Vernon D. White, 86 of Temple will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 3 at Temple Brethren Church.
Mr. White passed away October 25 in Temple.
Vernon was born on July 25, 1929 in Vilas to the late Coy and Lillian White. He worked as an electrician for Manning Electric in Houston until his retirement. After retirement he worked at mowing and maintaining Wilson Valley and Great House Cemeteries. Vernon loved yard work, gardening and his animals. He was a long time member of Val Verde Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon Dempsey White, Jr. and a daughter, Lorreta Fay Shores.
Survivors include his wife, Georgie White of Temple 2 daughters, Toni Kay White and Brenda Kelly, 1 stepdaughter Peggy Hejl and husband Rev. James 2 stepsons, Gary Vasek and wife Paula, Larry Vasek and wife Mary daughterinlaw, Sharon White, 2 brothers, Bill White and Ronnie White 5 sisters, Bea Stephens, Wanda McCormick, Nell Messer, Lynda Owen and Donna Locklin 5 grandsons 2 granddaughters, 4 stepgrandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2626 S. 37th St. Suite B, Temple, Texas 76504, 2547422000.
Services have been entrusted to HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Belton.
