Vernon Alois Jenschke, 78 of Nolanville, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple with Chaplain Rodney Cruz officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors.
Vernon Jenschke was born May 25, 1932 to Adolph and Olga Kunz Jenschke in Fredericksburg, Texas. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. On October 13, 1951, he married Imogene Maroney in San Antonio, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1996. Mr. Jenschke worked as a telephone installer for Southwestern Bell. He retired after 32 years. On August 28, 1998, he married Marilyn Fisher in Nolanville, Texas. Vernon Jenschke was a member of Hermann Sons for 60 years. He was a Catholic.
Survivors include: his wife Marilyn Jenschke of Nolanville, sons Joe Jenschke and wife Amy of Temple, Douglas Ellison and wife Pam of Ohio, and Dennis Ellison of Nolanville, daughters Andrea Free and husband Freddie of Farmers Branch, Christine Ferguson and husband Steve and Jeanna Adams both of Lewisville, and Jean Ellison and husband Earl of Belton, brothers, Eric Jenschke of Wisconsin, sisters JoAnn McDonald and Mary Shelton both of San Antonio, 15 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
