Velma Schmidt

Velma Louise Evans Schmidt of Temple, Texas peacefully passed away on April 29,2011.
Funeral Services will be held at Harper Talasek funeral home May 4th at 3:00 PM Burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 68 p.m. May 3rd.

Mrs. Schmidt was born in Falls County near Reagan, Texas to Jake and Rosie Evans. She married Gilbert Schmidt of Rosebud, Texas in 1948. She was employed by Marlin Dry Cleaners 19581963, Curits shoe factory 19631966 and Scott White Hospital 19661970. Velma then spend the next twenty seven years providing a loving childhood for countless children as a registered babysitter in her home.
At an early age, Velma joined the primitive Baptist Church in Houston before placing her letter in the Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Marlin in 1974 most recently she was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Waco. Her deep Christian faith over the past 65 years was a inspiration to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband of 57 years her parents, four brothers, and four sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Wysonda Craft of Belton and two sons, Donavon Schmidt of Granbury and Randall Schmidt of Leander. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren, three greatgreandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Bell county.
