Velma Greene

Velma Lee Folschinsky Greene, 99, formerly of Temple passed away May 30, 2013 at a hospital in College Station. Services have been set for Saturday, June 1, 2013 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel at 3 pm with Rev. Ridge Adams officiating.
Velma was born on August 21, 1913 to Dan Mack and Mary Ellen Smith Nichols in Falls County, Texas. She was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and belonged to the Joy Sunday School Class. She worked for Curtis and Baughs Shoe Companies and retired from Temple ISD. She was a devoted Christian who was known for generously helping those in need. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and watching the Dallas Cowboys.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 51 years Walter Folschinsky, her second husband Lloyd Greene, a son Freddie Folschinsky, a grandson Craig Schmidt, sisters Lura Edge, Vera Davis, Doris Lagrone, and Melba Hall, and brothers Dan Nichols, Ray Nichols, Arthur Nichols.
Velma is survived by her daughter Mary Wonnacott and husband Jerry, soninlaw Wayne Schmidt, 2 sisters Alice Ballard and Lillian Crowley, brotherinlaw, Sonny Lagrone, 3 grandchildren Debra Cooper, Gail Rowe, and Greg Schmidt, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 1:30 to 2:30 at the funeral home.
