Theresa Brooks

Theresa Anne (Johnson) Brooks, age 41 of Temple, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Monday, April 26, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

Theresa was born on September 5, 1979 to Larry Wayne and Jan Marie Johnson in Temple, Texas. She married Jody Cade Brooks on March 9, 2008. Theresa graduated from UMHB with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, went on to earn her LVN, and then earned her RN from ACC and her BSN from UT Arlington. She worked as a pediatric homecare nurse for Epic Home Healthcare in Austin, from 2009 through 2015, as well as working for other pediatric home healthcare groups. Prior to having to stop working in late 2015, she was working to earn her Master of Science degree in nursing in order to become a nurse practitioner so that she could help more children.

She is survived by her father, Larry Wayne Johnson; husband, Jody Cade Brooks; sister, Kristina Gomez; brother, David Johnson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that anybody wishing to honor Theresa’s memory make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, any local children’s charity, or to Service Dogs, Inc. in Dripping Springs, TX.
