Sylvia Krejci Frits died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the age of 79, at her home in Temple. She had been a resident of Temple for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Wesley D. Frits to whom she had been married 56 years. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Blann of Temple, Texas granddaughter, Staci Taylor of Pflugerville and many nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her sister Lydia Whitlow of Bartlett, and sister Amelia Kay King of Academy.
Sylvia, was born August 28th, 1932 in Jerrell, Texas to Joe and Annie Krejci. On Valentines Day 1955 Sylvia married the love of her life, W.D. The couple resided in Buckholts before moving to Schwertner for 35 years where they enjoyed farming, coffee, dominos, family and friends. Sylvia was an active member of the Schwertner Community Club and enjoyed spending time involved with the Ladies Club Quilting Guild. Sylvia was a gifted cook and especially delighted in spoiling her family and guests with her favorite dishes, always insisting that everyone who entered her home never left hungry.
Sylvia battled Leukemia for 8 years and the family would like to thank the special care and loving support of Scott and Whites Dr. Mark Holguin, Dr. Jim Weinblatt and the team of nurses in the Vasecek Cancer Center. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Scott and White Foundation and restricted to the Vasecek Cancer Center Fund at 2401 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas 76508. Donations may also be made to the Schwertner Community Club at P.O. Box25, Schwertner, Texas 76573.
Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Monday at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel.
