Stanley Pitts

Services for Stanley Eugene Pitts, 77, of Temple will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 25 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Chapel in Temple with Tom Popelka officiating. Burial will follow in North Belton Cemetery.

Mr. Pitts died Wednesday, April 20, in Temple.

Stanley Eugene Pitts was born June 25, 1938 in Falls County, Texas to Stanley Pitts and Rosalee Scott Pitts. He began working for Ralph Wilson Plastics (later Wilson Art) in 1960. He retired from Wilson Art in 1997, after 37 years of service. He married Frances J. Drake in 1981. Stanley was a farmer and enjoyed working with animals and tractors with his nephew, David Drake. He was a family man who raised not only his daughters, but his granddaughter, Malinda. He enjoyed camping, fishing, westerns, and telling jokes. He enjoyed his great-grandchildren, who knew him as "Paw Paw".

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Brown; brothers Averett Pitts, Charles Pitts and John Pitts; and sisters, Irene Pond and Linda Grey.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Frances; daughters, Tawana Jordan, Paula Smith, and Jo Ann Smith; sons, Bobby Smith and Edward Smith; sister, Doris Pond; seven grandchildren, including Malinda Jordan and her fiancé, Clayton Fetterman; three great-grandchildren, including Tinsley Patterson and Henley Fetterman.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday, April 24 at the funeral home.
