Selma Lawler

Services for Selma Jaster Lawler, 85, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Roy Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow to Belfalls Cemetery.

Selma Jaster Lawler died on Friday, January 12, 2018 at a local care center.

Ms. Selma Jaster Lawler was born on December 7, 1932 in Durango, Texas to Albert Gus Jaster and Hilda Kruger Jaster. She graduated from Troy High School in 1950. She lived in Belfalls. She retired from the City of Troy, August 1998. She also worked for Texas State Optical in Temple for many years. She married W. A. "Buss" Lawler on December 8, 1950 in West Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Dorothy Jaster Herrington; two brothers, Richard "Pat" Jaster and Willie Jaster.

Survivors include her son, David Lawler of Belfalls; two sisters, Helen Jaster of Temple and Sindy Jaster Greenwood of Salado; two granddaughters, Monica Lawler Ferguson of Groves, Texas and Caitlyn Lawler Smith of Waco, Texas.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Oenaville Baptist Church located at 6161 Dudley Road Troy, Texas 76579 or Interim Hospice 6428 South General Bruce Drive, Suite B Temple, TX 76502.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 -7:00 pm on Monday, January, 15, 2018 at the funeral home in Temple.

Arrangements are In the care of Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
