Mr. Sam Gibson, 86, of Belton, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 in a Belton nursing center.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2008 at North Belton Cemetery in Belton with Rev. Ernest Thompson officiating.
Mr. Gibson was born to James Gibson and Mary Catherine Callahan Gibson in San Gap, Kentucky on January 16, 1922. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement, he was self-employed as a body shop technician. He has been a resident of Bell County since 1976, moving here from Richmond, Indiana. Mr. Gibson was a Pentecostal.
Survivors include one daughter, Brenda L. Griffith of Holland; six grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Gibson on January 1, 1993 and a daughter, Kathy Sue Maupin in 2005.
