Sadie Shelburne

alignjustifySadie Shelburne, 83, of Waco passed away Wednesday, August 6 at a local assisted living center. Visitation will be Friday, 5-8 p.m. at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Ted Kelton will officiate and Dick Goodwin will deliver the eulogy.

alignjustifyMrs. Shelburne was born April 16, 1925 in Waco to the late Samuel Saleem and Willie Mae Cunningham Betros. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Mound, Texas and also a member of the Lebanese Ladies Club and The Book Review Club of Mound. After retiring, she and her late husband, Kenney Shelburne relocated to Gatesville to manage their ranch.

alignjustifySadie Betros married Kenney Shelburne, February 14, 1945 and he preceded her in death October, 1993.

alignjustifyMrs. Shelburne is survived by her three daughters: Linda Hilliard and husband, Larry of Belton, Judy McBride of Troy and Carol Kelton and husband, Ted of Atlanta, Texas; grandson, Jami Anderson of Troy; sister: Mary Adele Lewis of Bryan; brothers: George Betros and Don Betros, both of Waco; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
