Ruth Mccann

Ruth T. McCann died on Friday, October 2, 2015 at her home near Belton, Texas at the age of 97. Mary Ruth Thompson was born in Vernon, Texas on January 11, 1918 to Thurman D. Thompson and Anna Belle James Thompson. She married W.A. McCann, Sr. in 1975, and together they served as international missionary evangelists.
Ruth was preceded in death by W. A. McCann, Sr.; her first husband, C.L. Russell; her son, Roy S. Russell; a step-son, W.A. McCann, Jr.; five brothers: Albert, Claude, Alton, Paul, and Ernest; and a sister, Nora B. Wilson.
Ruth's survivors include a brother, Tommy Thompson, of Fort Worth, and two sisters, Luella Thompson of Irving, and Marie Frith of Vernon, as well as three step-children: Helen L. Williams and husband, Jeff, of Spring; Edward McCann and wife, Judy, of Tallahassee, FL; and Ronald R. McCann and wife, Tina, of Austin.
The funeral will be conducted by Rev. Elwyn Johnston at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, Temple, Texas with visitation during the hour preceding the service. Interment will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park, Temple, Texas.
