Ruth Cortese

Ruth Pauline Cortese, age 86, of Little River, passed away Friday March 22, 2013 at her home. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday March 26 at Harper Talasek Funeral Home.
Ruth was born December 14, 1926 in Bartlett TX to Walter and Irene Steglich. She married Vince Cortese on November 4, 1951. She graduated from Bartlett High School and the Scott and White School of Nursing in Temple and retired after 40 years of nursing. She was a member of the Scott and White Pioneers, The Republican Womens Club, and the Bell County Extension Homemakers.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nettie Mae Freudenberg.
Survivors include her husband Vince sons Richard Nancy Cortese of Little River and Perry Cortese of Little River daughters Jackie McLaughlin of Little River and Beverly Michael Simmang of Austin sister Mary Ann Gerick of Portland, TX seven grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
