alignjustify Rudolph Rudy Schiller, 85, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009, at a local hospital. BR He was born September 2, 1923, to Gus and Frances Fanny Luksik Schiller in Red Ranger, Texas.BR Rudy attended school at Thompson, Oscar and Stringtown schools. He then joined the United States Navy and served from February 23, 1942, to March 5, 1946, as an aviation metalsmith third class. He was stationed at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and served during World War II.BR He met the love of his life, Grace Gray, and they were married on June 6, 1946, at the First Methodist Church in Temple.BR Rudy farmed for many years in the Oscar area. He and Grace then opened Oscar Store in 1973. Together, they operated the store every day until the store burned on April 28, 2006.BR Rudy was a member of SPJSTLodge 47, Seaton.BR He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edwin Schiller, Gus Schiller, Jr., and Johnnie Schiller.BR Survivors include his wife Grace of 62 years; sisters Evelyn Henson of Heidenheimer and Martha Zavodny and husband Milton of Rogers; four nieces; three nephews; 13 great-nieces and great-nephews; many friends; and his dog Peaches.BR Rudys life will be celebrated on Saturday, March 7 at Oscar Store at 11 a.m.BR Memorials in Rudys name may be sent to the SPJSTScholarship Fund, P.O.
