Ruby Lorena Blankemeier, of Moffat, died Sunday morning, March 17, 2019 at her daughter's home in Moffat.
Ruby Lorena Blankemeier was Baptized July 7, 1929, (which was her dad's birthday) by Rev. Dr. E. A. Heckmann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Riesel, Texas. She was Confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church on April 18, 1943 by Pastor H. E. Oriessner.
She graduated from Mart High School and entered Nursing School, graduating as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. She put her compassion for people to work at Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, and Scott and White Hospital in Temple. She married Loyd Blankemeier on July 2, 1951 in Marlin, Texas.
Ruby called many places home during her life, having lived in Marlin; Big Spring; Taiwan; Mobile, Alabama; Del Rio; Bitburg, Germany; Waco; Temple; and finally Moffat.
She enjoyed many hobbies, including photography, horses, reading books, needlework, and going on cruises.
Survivors include her children, David and Vivian Blankemeier, Jill and Richard Lorenz, Faye and James Morrow, and Steven and Denise Blankemeier; grandchildren, Ryan Blankemeier, Charlene and Zach Travis, Jaclyn and Shane Bradford; Rebekah Morrow; and Andrew and Ashley Morrow; and by her great grandchildren Ethan Blankemeier; Addyson Travis; Aidan Travis; Channing Travis; Tabitha Morrow; Lydia Morrow; and a little one we have not yet met; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
