Ronald Chapman

Services for Ronald Wayne Chapman "Chappy", 73, of Temple, will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 2nd, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Brother Harry Thrasher officiating. Burial will follow in procession to Bellwood Memorial Cemetery.

R.W. Chapman died on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at a local hospital.

Ronald Wayne Chapman was born on May 23, 1943 to James H. Chapman and Mae Smithson in Temple, Texas. Ronald graduated from Temple High school in 1961. He married the love of his life, Christine Lewallen in July of 1963. He enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam era. Mr. Chapman worked for Gray International Harvester and Coufal Prater as a salesman. Chappy enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing. His hobby was fixing golfing equipment.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Angela Chapman; and brother, Melvin K. Chapman.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Christine; son, Kevin W. Chapman and wife Stephenie; daughter, Pamela McJoynt and husband Kelly; two sisters, Connie Moore and Wanda Greene; sister-in-law, Bettye Chapman; and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.

In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to a Leukemia foundation or a charity of your choice.
