Mr. Roland J. Masters, 80, of Moody, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 in a Temple hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Brian West and Rev. Joe Broadway officiating. Burial will be in Temple Garden of Memories.

Mr. Masters was born to William Andrew Masters and Clara Nixon Masters in Harper, Texas. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Vonnie Tink Chaffin in Comanche County, Texas on September 29, 1973. He had been a resident of Bell County since 1974, moving here from Comanche. Prior to his retirement in 1988, he was employed with the Texas Highway Department. Mr. Masters was a member of First Baptist Church of Little River.

Survivors include his wife, Vonnie Tink Masters of Moody; two sons, Noel Masters of Danville, Indiana and Marvin Flanary of Temple; one daughter, Linda Rash of Moody; two sisters, Carley Shaw of Brownwood and Lois Hall of Comanche; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of arrangements.
