He was a good man with a huge heart. He had the ability to make and keep friends easily. He was able to help many people with his gifts of auto knowledge and many more ways. He was a machinist by trade. He worked for Durametalic at the time of his retirement. He had many interests and hobbies. Including auto mechanic, auto body technician and gardening to name a few. He loved to restore classic vehicles to their former glory. He had many awards from his vehicles. The 52 Chevrolet he restored and painted with a patriotic motif in honor of his son in law who was stationed in the Gulf War. The vehicle was featured in Hot Rod Magazine in 1991. He married my mother Cynthia on April 1, 1966. They were married until the time of her death May 31, 2008. He never got over her death.
He was preceded in death by and older brother, James, a younger sister, Dawn, and a great grandchild Jewelie Powell.
They had three children, Pamela Powell and husband Wayne, Michael Hamacher and wife Hope, and William Hamacher and wife Linda. Three grandchildren, Jonathan Powell and wife Amanda, Jennifer Tellier and husband Victor, and Anthony Hamacher and wife Christina. Two great grandchildren, Vivian Tellier and Nickolai Hamacher. He also left behind many nieces and nephews that were a big part of his life. And a sister in law Sheila who was more like a sister and kept in touch until the time of his death.
He lives on in our hearts.
