Roberto Gutierrez, Jr.

Roberto Gutierrez, Jr., 35, of Temple, died Friday, June 6, 2008 near Sweetwater, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 9, 2008 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Billy Ray Crow officiating. Burial will be in Reed's Lake Cemetery.

Roberto was born to Roberto and Maria Riviera Gutierrez in Houston on November 14, 1972. He graduated from Pasadena High School in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army from 1996 until 2000. He had been a resident of the Temple-Killeen area since his honorable discharge from the Army. He married Nichole Whatley in Temple on May 10, 2005. Roberto was employed with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

Survivors include his wife, Nichole Gutierrez of Temple; beloved daughter, Ariela Marie Gutierrez of Temple; mother, Maria Gutierrez of Los Fresnos, Texas; and three sisters, Liz Torres of San Antonio, Texas and Maribel Gutierrez and Janie Martinez, both of Los Fresnos, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 P.M. at the funeral home.
