Robert Edgar West Jr.

Robert Edgar West Jr, 71, of Temple Texas passed away at home on October 30, 2025.

Robert was born on September 4, 1954, in Paris Texas to Robert Edgar West and Elizabeth Ann West. Robert graduated from South Garland High School in 1973.

In 1981, Robert began his career with the Texas Power and Light Company. He dedicated 38 years of service before retiring in 2019, in Temple, Texas.

Robert’s greatest passions were hunting and fishing, interests that defined his life and brought him joy. Anyone who knows him could count on hearing stories from the adventures across Africa, Alaska, Canada and countless states in between. Some of his fondest memories were made on hunting trips with his father in Colorado, and at one of his favorite places, the family’s beloved “Deer Lease” in Burnet Texas. The many years spent there created cherished friendships and lasting family memories.

Robert is survived by his sisters, Janet Powell and Susan Ray (and husband Joe). Nephews Justin Powell (and wife Jillian), Jeffrey Powell, Jacob Powell (and Ashley), Tyler Wishard (and Andre), Brian Wishard and niece Juli Tomlin (and husband Hunter), and Great Niece Annaleigh Powell.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday November 23, 2025, at 501 @ The Yacht Club, in the SS Lounge, Rockwall Texas. Family and friends are warmly invited to share memories of Robert.
