Robert "Bob" Reed, 65 of Temple, passed from this life Sunday, September 29, 2024, at Baylor Scott & White hospital in Temple, surrounded by family. A public memorial service will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
Bob was born on June 30, 1959, to William D. and Balbina S. Reed in Austin. He graduated from McCallum High School in 1977. Bob worked at Baylor Scott & White in Temple for several years, as well as Parkland Hospital in Dallas, where he was Vice President of patient access, before retiring. After retirement, Bob was a consultant for several different hospitals throughout the United States. Bob was the definition of a family man. He always made sure that his family and friends were well taken care of. Bob knew how to light up a room with a joke, always had a smile on his face, and he never knew a stranger. He loved going to the beach, fishing, watching football, grilling, spending time with his loved ones, and all things chocolate. Bob was the most outgoing, selfless, and honest man. We will carry the memory of Bob in our hearts forever.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents; and his sister, Barbara Mincey.
He is survived by his wife, Wynetta Reed of Temple; his children, Mitchell Copeland (Jana), and Casey Copeland Gommert (Bradley); 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brother, Stanley Reed; and numerous nieces and nephews.
