Robert Mckee

Mr. Robert Lee McKee, 88, of Troy, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 11, 2008 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Rev. Kissa Vaughn officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.

Mr. McKee was born to Loyd Eugene McKee and Pearl Mae Wood McKee in Clarksville, Texas on May 8, 1920. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He had been a resident of Bell County since 1945. He married Ruby Crawford in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 18, 1945. Mr. McKee was a charter member of the Troy Volunteer Fire Department, and formerly served as a city councilman and mayor of Troy. He was a member of Troy United Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as Service Manager of Coca Cola Bottling Company in Temple. Mr. McKee held membership in the Masonic Lodge and American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby McKee of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
