Services for Robert Garcia, 58, of Temple, will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating.
Mr. Garcia passed away Tuesday, April 4, at a local hospital.
Robert Garcia was born March 17, 1959 in Temple to Paulino Garcia and Rosa Castillo. He and his twin sister, Eva, enjoyed the special relationship of twins and celebrating their St. Patrick's Day birthday, which they shared with their mother and brother Johnny. He was a lifelong resident of Temple and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He and his brother, Johnny, helped with the maintenance at the Church for many years. While a resident at Regency Manor, Robert served others by always lending a helping hand and by calling bingo. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping, and sports, especially the Temple Wildcats and the Dallas Cowboys. Robert was an auto detailer by profession.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Rosa Castillo Reyna; father, Paulino Garcia; step-father, Pablo Reyna; and sister, Juana McCoy.
He is survived by brothers Jesse Garcia and wife Rose, Paul Garcia, David Garcia, Johnny Garcia and wife Janie, Albert Garcia and wife Mary, Ralph Garcia, and Paulino Garcia; sisters Eva Garcia and Magdalena Hilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m.
