Robert Gandy

Robert Bob Gandy, 80 of Temple, passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in a local care facility. Funeral services will be 2:00pm Saturday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple with Dr. Ron Milne officiating. Burial will follow in Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Robert Bob Gandy was born May 25, 1929 to Robert H. and Mary Florence Davis Gandy in Rogers, Texas. On November 4, 1950 he married Ruby Lee Stiewert in Houston. Mr. Gandy retired from the United States Air Force in 1977 as a Senior Master Sergeant. After his service in the military, he became a partner in plumbing manufacturing sales. Mr. Gandy also served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher at South Avenue Baptist Church in Pasadena. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Temple.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Roger John Gandy in 1966, sister, Laura Rosenkranz, and son-in-law, Vernon Pugh.

Survivors include: his wife, Ruby of Temple, son, Robert David Gandy and wife Josie of Leander, daughter, Robyn Gail Pugh of Temple, brother, Leslie Gandy and wife Myra of Stephenville, sisters; Doris Fisher of Phoenix, Arizona, and Frances Brown and husband Tommy of Albuquerque, New Mexico, grandchildren; Erin N. Jones, Robert M. Gandy and wife Amy, Shain M. Pugh, Justin E. Pugh, Theresa M. Blair, Stephen S. Blair, and Jonathan L. Gandy, and great grandchildren; Zackery S. Humphries, Jessica N. Jones, Toni L. Pugh, and Chloe M. Gandy.

Visitation will 6-8pm Friday at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
