Robert Bulls

Robert Lewis Bulls, age 60 of Troy, left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. Burial will follow in Marlow Cemetery in Cameron.

Robert was born on November 6, 1962, to Lewis and Barbara Bulls in Temple, Texas. He lived his whole life in the Troy and Temple area. He graduated from Troy High School, Class of 1982, where he played football and basketball for the Troy Trojans. Robert worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts for over 10 years. He is a member of Key Valley Baptist Church. Robert was a member of APA Pool League for over 20 years, but his true passion was for Dirt Track Racing. He was a crew chief for his little brother, Roger, and his nephew, Lewis. Robert built his first racecar in 1984, which Roger drove. Roger drove for about 10 years and then Lewis came along in 2007 and asked Robert to help him get a race car together as well. They raced up until Robert got sick.

Robert is preceded in death by his father; and both sets of grandparents.

Robert had no children of his own, but he had 5 nephews and 1 niece that he treated as his own children. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Bulls; sister, Vickie Blackwood; brother, Roger Bulls and wife, Kim; niece, Elizabeth Blackwood; nephews, Lewis Blackwood and wife, Paula, Zachary Bulls and wife, Madison, Jonathon Bulls, Justin Mercer, Curtis Mercer and wife, Erin, and Payton Stanford; 4 great nephews; and 2 great nieces.

He will be laid to rest at Marlow Cemetery in Cameron, Texas next to his grandparents, the Clinard’s.

A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the funeral home.
