Memorial services for Robert "Cutter" Brandenburg, III, 64, of Temple, will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Evangelist Jason Cole officiating.
"Mr. Cee", as he was also known, died Monday, January 19, at a local care facility.
He was born September 15, 1950, in Greenville, Mississippi to Robert Brandenburg, Sr. and Ernesta Cortaza Boyd. He graduated from high school in Downey, California and later moved to Austin, Texas. He lived in Temple for the past twenty years.
Mr. Cee was a road manager for various artists, including Stevie Ray Vaughn. He also worked with the groups ZZ Top, the Bee Gees, and Johnny Winter. He opened a blues club, Cutter's Texas Music Hall, in Harker Heights. He had a great passion for rock-n-roll music, history, and rescuing animals, especially dogs. He retired from his career in the music industry upon the birth of his son. In 2006, he wrote his autobiography, "You Can't Stop a Comet".
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; his wife, Peggy Marler Brandenburg; brother, Garry Brandenburg; and sister, Trene Bruce.
Survivors include his mother, Ernesta; son, Robert O. Brandenburg, IV; and sisters, Carol Downing and Biddy Brandenburg.
A reception at Peggy's Coffee House in the Temple Mall (3111 South 31st Street, Temple, Texas) is scheduled following the memorial service on Sunday.
Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
