Robert Dean Agee, Sr., 77 of Salado, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at his home.
Born in Hampton, Virginia, he was the son of Martin Luther and Helen Emily Agee. After attending high school he served in the Air Force as a Staff Sergeant. During that time he won the Fort Worth Regional Golden Gloves Championship in 1953. He earned a degree from Baylor University in Speech and Education. Bob spent his early career in retail and radio station management. After a successful career at Artco Bell Corporation, he retired as Vice President of Marketing and a part owner. In retirement, he enjoyed cooking, golfing, and drawing.
The love of his life was Billie Ann Gilleland whom he married in 1953 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. They spent most of their life in the TempleSalado area raising their four children. He was first and foremost a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his surviving family, his daughters Tina Alderman and husband Pete of Salado, Jamie Lusk and husband, Harrell of Houston, Patsy Ewan and husband David of Wilson, NC, son, Robert Agee Jr. and wife Laura of Salado his seven grandchildren, Aaron Alderman, Adam Alderman, Amber Agee, Robert Agee III, Stephen Ewan, Natalie Ewan, and Kristin Ewan his sister, Juanita Hoosier and his brother, Donnie Agee.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Ann and brothers, Martin Luther Agee and Raymond Agee.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 1:00pm at HarperTalasek Funeral Home Chapel, 500 W. Barton Avenue, Temple, Pete Alderman officiating.
