Services for Rickie Lynn Shelton, 58, of Temple, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Pastor Chase Bower officiating.

Mr. Shelton passed away Thursday, March 2, at his home in Temple.

Rickie Lynn Shelton was born August 25, 1958 in Temple, Texas to Jessie Lloyd Shelton and Lorene Lucko Shelton. Rickie was a life-long resident of Temple and graduated from Temple High School. He met and married Cheryl Carter in July 1983. Rickie worked for the City of Temple. He was hard working Christian who was very devoted to his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Shelton.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cheryl Shelton; his mother, Lorene Shelton; three brothers, Lester Shelton and wife Becky, James Shelton and wife Carole, and David Shelton and wife Jean; two sisters, Carolyn Eichinger and husband Jim, and Patsy Vrazel and husband J.R.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, March 6, at the funeral home.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Temple Fire and Rescue and EMS, their Home Health Care Nurses, and Baylor Scott and White Memorial Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a headstone fund for Mr. Shelton.

Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple is in charge of arrangements.
