A visitation to celebrate the life of Richard "Dickie" Baggerly, 69, of Temple will be held at the family home (1002 N. 13th St. in Temple) from 4 - 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11.
Richard died Saturday, July 4th, at a local hospital.
He was born December 17, 1945 in Belton to Richard W. and Lela Nettles Baggerly. Richard played football in high school and one of his favorite past-times continued to be watching the game. His other hobbies included fishing and playing dominoes. He was self-employed.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Joyce Baggerly Copeland; sisters Minnie Browning and Joyce Spence; and a brother, Robert "Bob" Baggerly; two grandsons and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Marquita Matthews Baggerly; son, Richard Baggerly, Jr. and wife Rachel and his adopted son James Ketchens; daughters Monica and husband Allen, and Crystal; a sister, Winnie Culp; six brothers, A.W. (Buddy) Baggerly, James Baggerly, Floyd Baggerly, Larry Baggerly, Donald Baggerly, and Ronald Baggerly; ten grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
