Rev. Richards

Rev. Floyd J. Richards, 83 of Temple, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be 11:00am Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Heights Baptist Church in Temple with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Valley Cemetery.

Rev. Floyd Richards was born November 16, 1927 to Troy and Della Jones Richard in Okay, Texas. On August 5, 1944, he married Juanita Garner in Belton, Texas. He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, retiring in 1971 after 25 years of service. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Rev. Richards served several local churches for over 35 years. He was a member of Heights Baptist Church in Temple.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister.
Survivors are his wife Juanita Richards of Temple, sons Rick Richard and wife Linda of Temple, Gary Richards of Temple, and Paul Richards and wife Linda of California, daughter, Robin Brown and husband Carl of Lubbock, brothers Lloyd Richard of Waxahachie, and J.L. Richard of Grand Prairie, sister, Della Faye Suggs of Paris, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Floyd Richards Fund at Heights Baptist Church, 1220 So.49th, Temple, Texas 76504.

Visitation will be 6:008:00pm Monday, November 22, 2010 at HarperTalasek Funeral Home in Temple.
