Reuben "Cubby" Castillo

Reuben Richardo “Cubby” Castillo, age 46 of Lufkin, passed from this life Friday, May 9, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park & Cemetery.

Cubby was born on October 3, 1978, to Reuben R. Castillo and Irene Bryan in Temple, Texas. He attended Stephen F. Austin State University Technical School and worked as a computer technician. Cubby was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country proudly.

Cubby leaves behind his parents, Reuben and Irene; sisters, Lisa A. Smith, Sophie M. Hill, and Shelly K. Patterson; and 10 beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to your choice of charities that support U.S. Veterans.

A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 pm with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 pm Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple.
