Regina Nieto

Regina Medrano Nieto, 86 of Temple, passed away Sunday, December 19 in a Temple nursing home surrounded by family. Services will be 10:00am Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Tom Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:008:00pm Wednesday at Harper Talasek Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.

Mrs. Nieto was born January 11, 1924 in Castroville, TX. She was the daughter of Sebastian Camarillo Medrano and Pascuala Chavira Medrano. She is preceded in death by her husband Pedro Nieto, Sr, son Joe Medrano, brothers Hijinio, Julio, Nick, Guillermo Willie, and Carlos Medrano, and sisters Leonara Medrano Quintero and Maria Luz Mary Medrano Champion.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Schnell and Rita Nieto of Pflugerville, Theresa Berru of Round Rock, Benita Schramme of Brenham, Alice Tobar of Bryan, Pedro Pete Nieto Jr., Frank Medrano, Andrew Nieto, Jesse Calderon, Johnny Nieto, and Helen Jimenez of Heidenheimer. She had 29 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren.

Regina was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was involved in various committees including Las Guadalapanas She will be remembered by her smile, her strength, her laughter, and her positive attitude. She will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Joe Anthony Medrano, Tomas Schramme, Angel Nieto, Tim Schnell, and Frank S. Medrano.
