Raymond Hood, age 61 of Moody, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the funeral home.
Raymond was born on October 28, 1959 to M.D. and Carolyn Hood in Pampa, Texas. He attended school at Pampa High School before attending TSTI Amarillo and later Transport Refrigeration. He worked for Ingersol Rand, Great Wide Transportation, and TDCJ in Maintenance H/VAC. Raymond was also a Jack of all trades and recently had started making horse shoe art. He enjoyed water skiing, hunting, riding ATV’s and side by sides, and playing in the mud with his RZR. Raymond was very kind, never met a stranger and was always cutting up with everyone, joking with people and loved to dress up and scare everyone around Halloween, his favorite holiday. Raymond always had to have his Mashed Potato Cake and Pineapple Pie for all his birthdays and at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He was a loving and caring man that was always willing to help out a person in need. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, M.D. and Carolyn Hood.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Hood; brother, Daryl Hood and wife, Jackie; brother, Larry Hood; daughter, Charlotte Cornett; daughter, Vicki Holly and husband, Elmer; son, Michael Hood; daughter, Amanda Gilleland and husband, Kolby; and grandchildren, Bradley Jackson (U.S. Navy), Sarah Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Brooklyn Hood, Bryson Hood, Christopher Holly, Levi Hood, and Delilah Gilleland.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Patriot Paws in Rockwall, Texas.
