Raymond William Fiala, 79, of Moody passed away on February 11, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home Chapel in Temple. Recitation of Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, February 15th at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Granger, Texas. Fr. Louis Pavlicek and Fr. Steve Sauser will officiate.
Raymond was born in Toledo, Ohio on April 2, 1936 to William and Agnes (Kuba) Fiala. He attended the SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger. He joined the United States Marine Corps in 1951 and served in the Korean Conflict. Raymond was a member of the Granger Lions Club, Granger VFW Post 8587 and a lifetime member of the DAV. He was also a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church where he was a 4th Degree Knight.
On June 21, 1997 he married Suzanne Hyden and they lived in Moody.
Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Fiala; and son, Michael Fiala.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne Fiala of Moody; daughter, Monica (Fiala) Henry and husband, Mark of Hewitt, TX and their children.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Catholic Church in Temple and/or St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Woodway.
