Ramsey Farley

Ramsey Wayne Farley of El Campo, formerly of Houston and Temple, passed away on May 30, 2016 at the age of 77.

He was born in McKinney, Collin County, on July 17, 1938 to the late Hershall Wayne and Faye Ramsey Farley. He married his Temple High School Sweetheart Eva Vrba on August 16, 1958.

He received his PhD in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas in 1965. He enjoyed a long career in Research, Exploration and Production with Exxon, Getty Oil, and finally Texaco, where he retired in 1995.

Ramsey was very active with his family, church and in the communities he lived. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, an active Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Knight's of Columbus and the Fourth Degree. An avid Longhorn, he was also a Lifetime Member of the Texas Exes, A Friend of Alec and a 1992 Distinguished Graduate from The University of Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Eva Vrba Farley of El Campo, daughters Kristina Farley Linzza of El Campo, Kendall Ramsey Farley of Chicago, IL, son Craig Wayne Farley (Patti) of Tyler, grandsons Travis Wayne Farley of Tyler, Collin Ramsey Linzza and Harrison Wayne Linzza of El Campo, granddaughter Shelby Faye Linzza of El Campo, sister Joycie Bryant (Bill) of Canyon, brother Dennis Farley (Marlene) of Rockwall, sister-in-law Sandra Vrba of Rosenberg, brothers-in-law Wayne Vrba of New Braunfels, Pat Vrba of San Antonio, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law Christopher "Hoss" Linzza, nephew Michael Wayne Farley, sister-in-law Jana Price Vrba and brother-in-law Don Vrba.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016, from 10 am until 12 pm at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home in Temple with Graveside Service at 1 pm at Hillcrest Cemetery in Temple.
