Ramona Martinez

Services for Ramona Martinez, 72, of Temple, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, at Temple Bible Church, 3205 Oakview Drive, Temple, with Pastor Gary DeSalvo officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.

Mrs. Martinez died on Sunday, July 31, 2016, at a local hospital.

Mrs. Ramona Martinez was born on April 10, 1944 in Temple, Texas to Matilde Carrillo and Juana Hernandez Carrillo. After her parents passed away, she stepped forward to care for her siblings. She married her husband, Felipe "Ramiro" Martinez in 1976. She worked for C & H die-casting as a machine operator. Her hearts passion was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She had a big heart and welcomed everyone as a member of her family. Although she was shy, she made it to every family function and will be dearly missed.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Matilde and Juana Carrillo, step-mother, Faustina Carrillo, five brothers, one sister, and a grandson, Julian M. Anguiano.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years; three sons, John Michael Ortiz, Anthony Glen Ortiz, and Ramiro Martinez; one daughter, Melissa Ortiz; sisters, Janie Donoso, Eva Kuhns, Sandy Ruiz, Helen C. Garcia, Minnie C. Vasquez, Teresa Sidon, Marie Fest, Paula Burrows, and Elva C. Ramirez; brothers, John Chavez and Joe Chavez; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday, August 3 from 6:00 pm- 8:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations at the church for Mrs. Martinez memorial headstone fund.
