August 31, 1926 — July 28, 2017

Services for Ramon Galindo Loa, 90, of Temple, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Harper-Talasek Funeral Home, 500 W. Barton Ave. Temple, TX 76501.

Mr. Loa passed away Friday, July 28, at a local care facility.

Ramon was born August 31, 1926 in Victoria, TX to Jesus and Trinidad Galindo Loa. Mr. Loa and his family moved to Temple in the late 1950's. Most of all Mr. Loa will be remembered for his outgoing personality. He had been described as a social butterfly that had never met a stranger. You could always hear him coming no matter from how far away by the tune he was whistling. If he was not at home, you could always find him at HEB where he was the unofficial greeter. He was a strong Christian man that loved to serve his Lord and his church. He was wonderful guitarist and was self-taught. He loved playing gospel music with his church and was also fond of the memories of playing music with his brothers. He was also known for his beloved cowboy hat and blue shirts.

Most of all Ramon loved to be with his family. No matter if it was BBQing on special occasions or trips to Mexico with loved ones and friends, it was always a time full of joy and love. He was a special man who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly. There is no gift in life greater than family and Ramon knew that without a doubt. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Ramon was preceded in death by his dear wife, Elvira Loa who passed away in 2001; his parents; a daughter, Esmeralda Loa; and nine brothers and sisters.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his daughters, Rosa Linda Quintanilla and husband, Mario, Alicia Loa and husband, Daniel Zaragoza, Raquel Loa and husband, Jeremy Knight, Patricia Sanchez and husband, Tony, Rebecca Moussa and husband, Ali, and Sylvia Carvajal; Sons, Jorge Loa and wife, Jodi, Ramon Loa Jr. and wife, Pelagea, Roberto Loa, Rogelio Loa, Ramiro Loa and wife, Pearl, and Pete Loa; sisters, Trine Farris, Olivia Garcia. He is also survived by his thirty-one grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
